We had our appointment today with Maternal Fetal Specialists and we got to see Norah again. She has definitely started to pick up some weight and looks so adorable. She was head down...(so Anne thats what you felt the other night) and her feet are up by my ribs. She was active again and showing off. She is a little ahead of the average in height and weight but not by much. They think this is due to my gestational diabetes (yes I failed but not by much). I have been testing my blood 4 times a day and it has been perfect. So with a few food changes and exercise, it will be controllable. The good thing is that this is all due to my placenta breaking down insulin so once I deliver, the diabetes will go away!!! YAY!!! Cake, cookies, and candy!!!!! I only gained less than 2 pounds since my last OB appointment but I think this is ok since she is gaining. (I could afford to skip a few weeks of weight gain!) Overall, everything looked great and we wont need another appointment unless our doctor thinks she is getting too big. As of now, things are right on track. She weighed 2 pounds 11 ounces. Heart beat was 160 bpm. We have our 8 month OB appointment next week so we'll update you then. Keep us in your prayers! Congrats to Erica and Josh on their beautiful baby Taylor being born. Cant wait to meet her!!! Here is a pic of Norah's face and then her cute feet pushing against my belly. Darn it...forgot to post pics of nursery. Those will be up shortly :)

Stupid Glucose!
Everything is going great so far in the early stages of the third trimester. The Nursery is done (pics to come) and we are officially registered for baby showers! Our next specialist appointment is coming up next week so we will get to see the baby in 4d again. UNFORTUNATELY, I was due for my glucose screening test for gestational diabetes and another iron test to see if my anemia has improved. Big fat "F" on both of those. I go for a second glucose reading this Saturday at 7am and have to fast before hand. It is a 4 hour test where they draw my blood every hour to check the results. I have heard that many people fail their first test and then pass the 4 hour test. HOPING and PRAYING this is my case. I dont think I can give up the carbs and sugar. But, I will do what I have to in order to make sure the baby is safe and healthy. My iron went down a gram since the last time they tested me which was not good news. I am currently on a supplement so their advice was even more red meat and green veggies. (I feel like Im going to be on the atkins diet) This may possibly explain the petechia (sp?) that has developed on my arms. The good news is that the nurse said the baby gets what she needs, its just me who suffers (tired, dizzy, bad mood - Sorry DeWayne!). Other than the bad test results, we are so excited for this last trimester. It brings baby classes, baby showers, and then our miracle baby will be here! Sometimes I just rock in the glider in her nursery and feel her little kicks or hiccups. Very calming. Rhu is a little upset about it since this was once "her" room. I have grown VERY MUCH in the last 2 months and am starting to feel the back ache and swelling. Its all worth it in the end. Pics to come next week after our appointment. Please continue to keep us in your prayers! Welcome my new niece Joslyn to the family!! Congrats Scott and Melissa.

Wrapping Up the 2nd Trimester!
We had our 6 month appointment today and everything went well. Her heartbeat was very strong and very loud. All of my numbers/measurements were exactly on target so we'll see the doctor again in August. Then we will follow up every 2 weeks until week 36. Then we go every week. DeWayne and I plan to register for the baby showers this weekend and we couldnt be more excited! The nursery is almost completely done and it is adorable!!! I will post pics as soon as its ready. We had a WONDERFUL time in Florida (thanks Borlands!!!) and enjoyed every minute of it. Here are a few pics. More updates to come after our next appointment.
